EVANSTON, Ill. -- For the second consecutive week, Northwestern has earned the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award. Senior Candice Cooper (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) was chosen after scoring eight goals in three games last week.
NU sophomore Meghan Small (Macungie, Pa./Moravian Academy) received the season's first Offensive Player of the Week award last week after scoring both of Northwestern's goals in a 2-1 overtime win over James Madison.
Cooper scored a pair of goals and earned an assist in a 4-2 victory over Kent State last Monday before tallying back-to-back hat tricks in Wildcat wins versus Ohio (6-0) and Fairfield (5-1) over the weekend.
Cooper now has 18 points on the season and 62 for her career, moving her into 18th position on Northwestern's all-time scoring list.
