Rose Wins Another 5K Open Water Title

PLAYA BLANCA, Panama - Northwestern's Erica Rose won the women's title at the inaugural Pan American 5K Open Water Championships Tuesday in Playa Blanca, Panama. Rose completed the course in 1:17. This is the second major open-water championship for Rose this month; earlier, she won the U.S. National Championship.

Federations invited to compete at the competition include Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Grenada, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico Netherlands, Antilles, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Venezuela, United States and Uruguay.
