EVANSTON, Ill. - Freshman Kristen Kjellman (pictured) was named the American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week after her performances against Delaware and Virginia Tech last week.

Kjellman, the 2003 Massachusetts Player of the Year who was the womenslacrosse.com National Rookie of the Week last week, picked up where she left off in grand style. She had two late goals in the 15th-ranked Wildcats' overtime win at Delaware Wednesday night -- the first one brought NU within one goal of the Blue Hens late in regulation, and the second tied the game late in the second overtime.

Kjellman followed that up with a spectacular six-goal performance Sunday at home vs. the Hokies, including five straight to close NU's scoring as the Wildcats came back to earn a 12-11 win.

Kjellman is the second Northwestern player to be honored by the ALC this season; goalkeeper Ashley Gersuk was named Player of the Week on March 8.
