EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern defeated Iowa 163-128 in the Wildcats' final dual meet of the season at the Norris Aquatics Center Saturday. NU bid farewell to five seniors who were competing in their final home meet as Wildcats. Five different Northwestern swimmers posted first-place finishes in multiple events to lead the 'Cats.
Seniors Katie Simmons won the 100 and 200 breaststroke with times of 1:05.05 and 2:18.82, respectively. Vicky West won the 100 freestyle with a time of 10:08.23 and 500 free with a time of 5:00.15.
Erin Swenson won the 100 freestyle and the 200 individual medley with times of 52.23 and 2:07.32, respectively while Chrisy Olin won both 100 and 200 butterfly events, clocking in at 57.10 and 2:00.40, respectively. Olin's time in the 200 butterfly set a new Norris Aquatics Center pool record, breaking former NU swimmer Carmen Cosgrove's time of 2:00.85.
Freshman diver Leanne Dumais swept the diving events with scores of 264.70 in the one-meter and 265.20 in the three-meter.
