MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Northwestern dropped its eighth straight dual Sunday at Minnesota. Brendan Curran (Chicago, Ill./Mt. Carmel) notched the only Wildcat tally at 184 pounds as the Gophers prevailed, 41-3.
Curran and the Gophers' Casey Flaherty were tied (3-3) after the first period. But Curran scored six of last seven points of the match for a 9-4 decision.
On the day, Minnesota posted two wins by fall and five wins by major decision.
With the loss, NU dropped to 5-9 on the season, including 0-5 in the Big Ten.
Northwestern is back in action Feb. 14 at Indiana.
