Wildcats Fall to Hawaii, Oregon State; Beat Cincinnati

HONOLULU, Hawaii - Northwestern fell to host Hawaii and Oregon State, but beat Cincinnati by scores of 56-30, 54-32, 74-12, respectively, Thursday night. The Wildcats put together a strong showing in the distance freestyle events.
Senior Erica Rose placed first in 1000 free with a time of 10:10.23. Amy Mueller finished third in the event with a time of 10:23.90.
Mueller tallied a first-place finish of her own in the 500 free with a time of 5:01.07. The 'Cats placed three swimmers in the top four in the event, with Vicky West finishing third and Rose placing fourth with times of 5:04.06 and 5:05.11, respectively.
Brielle Bovee, Christy Olin and Erin Swenson each picked up third place finishes. Bovee took third in the 100 breaststroke; Olin finished third in the 100 fly and Swenson took third in the 100 free.
