Two Wildcats Earn Big Ten Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Senior Diane Provencher and junior Candice Cooper have been recognized by the Big Ten conference as two of the top players in the leauge. Provencher garnered second team honors as a back, while Cooper was named to the second team as a forward.

Provencher was the anchor of a stingy Northwestern defensive unit that was much improved from a year ago. She also emerged as an offensive threat for the 'Cats, scoring three goals on the season, including a goal in NU's 3-2 loss to Ohio State in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.

Cooper was the Wildcats' offensive leader all season, pacing the Wildcats with eight goals on the year. She scored Northwestern's first goal against the Buckeyes. Cooper also lead the 'Cats in total points on the season, notching 19 points on the year. Her three assists also tied for a team-high.
