EVANSTON, Ill. - CoSIDA released the 2003 Academic All-American men's soccer team today. For the second time in his career, Northwestern captain Jeremy Cook has been named to the Academic All-America team, this time as a first-team selection.

A senior with a 3.96 grade point average, Cook was named a second-team Academic All-American in 2002. He started all 20 matches for the Wildcats this season as midfielder and drew starting assignments in 57 straight games, beginning in his sophomore season.

Cook was named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team after helping the 'Cats pick up their first win against a conference opponent since 1999.

A former walk-on, Cook quickly became one of the conferences most respected defenders. As a junior, he held the Big Ten's top three scorers without a point.
