No. 7 Northwestern Heads to Ohio State Duals

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern's fencing team takes its 6-0 Midwest Fencing Conference record to the Ohio State Duals this Saturday in Columbus, Ohio. NU will meet conference foes Case Western Reserve, Lawrence, Chicago and Cleveland State and No. 4 Ohio State.

Northwestern, the seventh ranked defeated Case Western Reserve, Lawrence, Chicago and Cleveland State earlier this year, giving up a total of eight points (of a possible 108). The Wildcats are a combined 109-4 against these teams.

As a team, NU has a 96-21 bout record against the Midwest Conference this year. Julia F?ldi (Budapest, Hungary/Szent Istavan Gimnazium) and Christina Wang (Milpitas, Calif./Castilleja) are a team-best 12-1 in conference competition. Kelsey Nencheck (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) is 11-1, and Lauren Dunn (Sacramento, Calif./Del Campo) and Lauren Van Gieson (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) are each 10-0.

The Wildcats are 15-21 against the Buckeyes. NU had won six straight against OSU before a 15-12 loss late last season. The Buckeye women are 5-0 this year, with all five wins coming at the NU Duals earlier this month.

Northwestern will also fence Florida. The Wildcats and Gators met twice before, with NU winning both duals.

Round One, 8:00-9:30 a.m. NU vs. Case Western Reserve

Round Two, 9:30-11 a.m. NU vs. Florida

Round Three, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. NU vs. Ohio State

Round Four, 1-2:30 p.m. NU vs. Lawrence

Round Five, 2:30-4 p.m. NU vs. Chicago

Round Six, 4-5:30 p.m. NU vs. Cleveland State
