EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern (3-3-0) will shoot for its first home win at 4 p.m. Wednesday when Wisconsin-Milwaukee comes to Lakeside Field.
The Panthers (2-1-1), ranked seventh in the Great Lakes Region of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll, give the Wildcats an opportunity to take on one of college soccer's best teams.
"They're a very good team," said NU Head Coach Tim Lenahan. "They may not be ranked in the national polls, but they are an NCAA Tournament caliber team."
The Panthers have outscored their opponents 9-5 and outshot them 64-33 thus far. Forward Antou Jallow is one of many weapons for UW-Milwaukee, having scored three goals on 12 shots. Julian Chang has added a pair of goals to go with three assists.
The Wildcats visited the Panthers last season and lost 4-0. Though UW-Milwaukee holds a 3-2-1 series edge, Lenahan said he thinks his team should compete better this time around.
"They taught us a lesson last year," Lenahan said. "I hope we'll be able to close the gap a little bit."
Wednesday marks the start of a stretch when the Wildcats play four of five matches at home.
