No. 14 Boston College Downs `Cats 1-0 in Overtime

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Boston College used a 2-on-1 fast break to beat Northwestern goalkeeper Kelly Augustine (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) in overtime for a 1-0 win, dropping NU to 3-3 on the season. The Wildcats had five shots on goal compared to two for the Eagles, but BC goalkeeper Lauren Hill stopped all five chances, including one in overtime to record the shutout.
"BC's goalkeeper did a good job in goal today," said head coach Marisa Didio. "We had five to six very good scoring opportunities and she kept us out of the net."
Playing its second overtime game in a row, NU ends the 2002 Big Ten/BIG EAST Challenge 1-1 after defeating Providence 4-3 on Saturday.
"As an entire unit, we did a great job defensively today," said Didio. "Especially from our backfield positions. We didn't allow BC very many finishing chances and our corner defense was well executed."
The 'Cats are back in action on September 18, when they travel to Muncie, Ind., to take on Ball State. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
