NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships Day Two Results

AUSTIN, Texas -
With two of three days complete at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, the Northwestern Wildcats are still scoreless with no swimmers advancing to the evening finals for the second straight day.
The 'Cats began the day with an 18th-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:44.61.
Three swimmers competed in the 100 fly. Merritt Adams (Norcross, Ga./The Lovett School) led the NU contingency with a 24th-place finish and career-best time (54.64). Carmen Cosgrove (Perth, Western Australia/Lumen Christi College) was right behind in 25th (54.65). Rachel Johnson (Champaign, Ill./Centennial) placed 36th, also with a career-best time (55.28).
Katie Simmons (Carmel, Ind./Carmel), in her first NCAA Championships individual event, swam the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.47, taking 40th.
In the 100 back, Susie Sample (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) finished the race in 57.16 to take 40th place.
NU disqualified in a relay for the second time this weekend when they DQ in the 800 free.
Competition will wrap up Saturday with morning prelims and evening finals. The 'Cats have four events left in order to score at the Championships.
