EVANSTON, Ill. -- Head coach Randy Walker and the Northwestern University football program announced today the signing of 22 football recruits to national letters of intent.
Walker's third recruiting class as the Wildcats' head coach again represents a strong national class with a solid Midwest base. This year, the Wildcats signed student-athletes from 10 different states, as well as Canada. NU signed five student-athletes from Illinois, four from Ohio and three each from Michigan and Georgia.
"This is a very strong class," said Walker. "I'm excited about the quality of the young men we've been able to attract to Northwestern. We were able to improve ourselves at nearly every position with this group.
"I believe we improved our team speed at nearly every position-from the offensive and defensive lines to the skill positions. There are several players in this class who can come in and make an immediate impact. This group fits in well with our previous two classes."
