Fencers Go 4-0 at Wayne State Duals

DETROIT - Sunday's Wayne State Duals served as a tuneup for Northwestern's fencing team, as the Wildcats handily won all four duals in preparation for the Midwest Collegiate Fencing Conference Championships this coming weekend.
NU improves to 26-3 with victories over Detroit-Mercy, Michigan, Michigan State and Wayne State. The 'Cats continue their lock on a No. 6 ranking in the latest College Fencing Coaches Association poll, released last week.
No weapon dropped a dual on Sunday, as the foil and ep?e squads improve to 27-2 and the sabre squad to 26-3. Individually, several fencers went undefeated in the four duals, among them freshman foilist Julia F?ldi (Budapest, Hungary/Szent Istv?n Gimn?zium), who went 7-0, and senior sabre captain Kate Frambach (Elm Grove, Wis./Catholic Memorial), who went 5-0.
On Mar. 2, the Wildcats will begin defense of their three consecutive conference titles in South Bend, Ind.
