FRANKLIN, Ind. -- Paced by Elizabeth Burden's (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) 4-over 148, Northwestern is sitting in a two-way tie for seventh place with Michigan at the Shoot-out at the Legends. The event is being hosted by The Legends Golf Club.
With one round left on Tuesday, the Wildcats (309-298=607) are 18 strokes behind Kent State (301-288=589), which leads the 16-team tournament by three strokes over Indiana. Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota follow Kent State and Indiana.
Burden, who is coming off a sixth-place finish at the Lady Northern, shot a 76 and an even-par 72 for the first two rounds. Sophomore Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) is in 26th place after shooting a 10-over 154 (78-76). Sophomore Mary Ellen Grzebien (Saunderstown, R.I./Narragansett) is 11-over and tied for 36th place.
The final round commences Tuesday morning.
