Northwestern to Visit Loyola

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern will face its final nonconference opponent of the season at 5 p.m. Wednesday when it heads a few miles south to Loyola. Through 12 nonconference games, the Wildcats (7-9) have earned seven wins.
The Wildcats have won four of their last five games against opponents outside the Big Ten. During that span NU has outscored its opposition 9-3.
The Ramblers enter the match with a 3-13 record. Their last win came at Northern Illinois on Sept. 6. Loyola is led by Joe Nierzwicki, who has five goals and four assists and a team-high 42 shots. Blake Kluesner and C.J. Bachmann have each chipped in with eight points.
Northwestern and Loyola met in last year's season-opener at Lakeside Field and ended up in a 2-2 tie. Matt Miclea (Lake Villa, Ill./Antioch Community) scored a goal and Steve Jedlinski (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) picked up an assist for NU. Of the seven times the two teams have met, their have been six ties. Loyola owns the only win.
Northwestern wraps up its road docket Saturday at Wisconsin and hosts Ohio State on Nov. 10 in the season-finale.
