Northwestern Falls to Michigan, 5-0

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern fell behind early and could not recover, losing to conference rival Michigan, 5-0, before more than 300 fans Sunday at Lakeside Field. With the loss, the Wildcats dropped to 7-9 overall and 0-4 in the Big Ten.
Northwestern tallied 11 shots (seven on goal) and had numerous scoring chances, but the goalkeeping tandem of Peter Dzubay and Joe Zawacki made seven saves.
Mike White got things going for the Wolverines (7-6-1, 2-3) with a goal at the 22:31 mark. Knox Cameron followed with one of his two goals a little more than seven minutes later, and Mychal Turpin added another tally for a 3-0 halftime advantage.
Cameron added his second goal a couple minutes into the second frame and Trai Blanks rounded out the scoring with just over three minutes to play.
The Wildcats held the corner kick advantage, 9-4.
Northwestern returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 30 when it makes the short trip to Loyola (Chicago).
