EVANSTON, Ill. - Coming off a clean sweep in last weekend's USFA Burton and Big Ten Club Championships, Northwestern hosts the USFA Remenyik on Oct. 19-20 at Patten Gymnasium. The Remenyik is an open event where fencers of all divisions compete independently.

The Wildcats are led by Julia F?ldi (Budapest, Hungary/Szent Istavan Gimnazium), who took home the foil title in both of last weekend's events. Freshman Sharon Sullivan (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) had an impressive debut, capturing both ep?e titles.

"This will be a difficult tournament," said NU head coach Laurie Schiller. "It will be a good test of our stronger fencers and good experience for the rest. We will have an excellent chance to medal in all weapons."

Freshmen Emily Pasternak (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) and Christina Wang (Milipitas, Calif./Castilleja) also look to continue their strong performance from last weekend. Pasternak won the USFA Burton sabre title and Wang placed second behind F?ldi both days.

The women's foilists and sabreists will compete Saturday, beginning with foil at 12:45 p.m. Sabre competition will follow at 3:15. The ep?e competition begins Sunday at 10:45 a.m.
