Women's Basketball Falls to Iowa, 82-68

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Northwestern women's basketball team fell to Iowa, 82-68, in Carver-Hawkeye Arena Thursday night.
Junior Leslie Dolland (Bloomington, Minn./The Blake School) came off the bench to score 19 points on 5-of-9 shooting including 16 in the second half.
Classmate Natalie Will (Nappanee, Ind./Northwood) kept the `Cats in the game, leading the team in rebounds (seven) and assists (six). She also had two steals and played a season-high 38 minutes.
Iowa seniors Lindsey Meder and Jerica Watson led the Hawkeyes in scoring as Meder poured in 27 and Watson finished with 18--all in the second half. Watson also had a game-high 12 rebounds.
The Wildcats cut the lead to five (59-52) with eight minutes to play as Dolland led an 11-3 run, scoring seven points. NU would not get any closer as Iowa responded with a 12-5 run of its own.
The Wildcats committed a season-high 26 personal fouls, sending the Hawkeyes to the line 36 times for 22 points.
Freshman Melissa Culver (Littleton, Colo./Heritage) scored 13 points and had five assists. Sophomore Michelle Zylstra (Huntington Beach, Calif./ Huntington) chipped in nine.
NU falls to 4-12, 0-5 in the Big Ten and is next in action when they host fifth-ranked Wisconsin at Welsh-Ryan Arena, Sunday at 2 p.m.
