EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern field hockey program had its third game in the last two weeks canceled due to the tragedy that struck New York City and Washington D.C. on Sept 11. The latest match to be canceled is versus Stanford which was scheduled for this Sunday, Sept. 30.
In addition, Stanford's game with Ohio State-scheduled to be played Saturday at NU's Lakeside Field-has also been called off.
The Cardinal cite travel restrictions as their reasoning behind the cancellation.
NU (1-6, 0-1) will still host No. 9 Ohio State (6-1, 2-0) at 3 p.m. on Friday.
