Women's Lacrosse Upends Wooster, 8-7, in Triple OT

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern University women's lacrosse club defeated Division 3 varsity program Wooster, 8-7, Sunday afternoon in Wittenberg, Ohio. Julie Lazarus provided the heroics, scoring her second goal of the game in the sudden-death third overtime.

With the win the Wildcats improved to 11-1. They are ranked second in the latest Women's Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL) poll, and were coming off a 2-1 day at the Purdue Playday Saturday. Wooster fell to 5-3 on the season.

Lillian Lardy paced the NU offense, scoring five goals, while Lazarus added an assist to her two goals. Susan Garea had the Wildcats' other goal, while Patty West had an assist. In goal, Kelly Matheson had a career-high nine saves to preserve the win.
