Evanston, Ill - The Northwestern men's tennis team (8-7, 2-3) will try to even its conference mark Saturday, hosting the Iowa Hawkeyes at noon. Weather permitting, the match will be held at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center. In case of inclement weather, the players will move indoors to the Johnson Tennis Center.

NU holds a commanding 58-18 advantage in the all-time series. Last year, the `Cats defeated the Hawkeyes, 4-3, in the final regular-season dual and again by the same score in the opening round of the Big Ten Championships.

Sophomore Josh Axler's four conference wins at the No. 6 position currently leads the Big Ten. Last weekend, he notched two straight-set victories, defeating Dan Swan of Purdue (7-6, 6-2) and Bernard Tsepelman of Indiana (6-0, 6-3).

Last weekend, the `Cats fell to Purdue (4-3) and Indiana (4-3). The bright spot of the weekend came when NU captured the doubles point for the first time in the last 10 tries. Against Indiana, NU used the doubles combination of Jackie Jenkins/Russell Bennett at No. 1, Ryan Edlefsen/Joost Hol at No. 2 and Brad Erickson/Josh Axler at No. 3.
