Women's Swimmers Strong at U.S. National Swim Meet

Evanston, Ill. - The Northwestern women's swimming program was well represented this past weekend at the Phillip 66 National Championships, held at the Texas Aquatic Center on the University of Texas campus.

Current assistant coach Kari Woodall led the Wildcats contingent, placing third in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 25.42, her best finish ever. She also turned in a 15th-place finish in the 100 meter freestyle (57.05). Former Wildcat All-American Amy Balcerzak was named to the World University Games roster with a third-place finish in the 100 breast (1:08.93).

Among current Wildcats, freshman Erica Rose took home 12th place in the 1,500-meter freestyle while classmate Katie Simmons finished 22nd in the 200-meter breaststroke.
