Women's Tennis Tops Wisconsin, 7-0

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Wisconsin Badgers were the latest victims of the Northwestern women's tennis team, falling 7-0 Sunday afternoon at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison. With the win, the Wildcats improved to 17-4 on the season and 8-0 in the Big Ten. Wisconsin fell to 7-13 overall and 2-6 in the conference.

Northwestern took all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches in straight sets. Colleen Cheng came from behind at No. 1, losing the first set (3-6) but winning the second 6-4. With the match tied at one set apiece, Cheng won the final set, 10-8, to give NU its 10th sweep of the season.

The Wildcats host Penn State and Ohio State next weekend to close out the 2001 regular season. Saturday's match is set for 10 a.m., while Sunday's is slated for 11 a.m.
