Women's Swimming Completes Day One of NCAA Championships

Evanston, Ill. - The Northwestern women's swimming and diving squad sent three swimmers to the pool on the first day of competition at the NCAA Championships in Long Island, N.Y.
The 200 freestyle relay squad placed 20th with a time of 1:36.27 in the first event of the morning. The team included, Tashy Bohm(Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central), Susie Sample (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township), Rachel Johnson (Champaign, Ill./Centennial) and Vicky West (Redlands, Calif./Redlands).
West swam next finishing 23rd in the 500 freestyle race with a personal best time of 4:48.68. Johnson wrapped-up the morning for the `Cats with a 32nd-place finish in the 200 IM (2:04.44). No Wildcat will swim in the evening session.
Tomorrow, NU is scheduled to compete in the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
