Two Fencers Capture Midwest Regional Titles

Evanston, Ill. - Two Northwestern fencers claimed individual titles over the weekend at the Midwest Regional Championships in Detroit, Mich. Senior Carly Wells (Arlington Heights, Ill.) won her third title in the sabre division, while sophomore Kate Rudkin (Boulder, Colo../Boulder) won her second consecutive regional title in the epee division. NU's top finisher in foil was junior Kristen Dorf (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy), who placed third. The Wildcats will hear who qualifies for the NCAA Championships on Thursday.
