Fencers Win Third Straight Midwest Conference Team Title

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern women's fencing team won its third consecutive Midwest Conference team title in South Bend, Ind., on Saturday. The Wildcats defeated nemesis Notre Dame in sabre and foil to bring home the gold. The epee squad was upset by Wayne State in the semifinals.

As a team, NU collected 425 points to edge out the Fighting Irish by a mere five points. Kate Frambach (Elm Grove, Wis./Catholic Memorial) defeated Destanie Milo in a thrilling bout to clinch the win.

The Wildcats will compete in the individual championships Sunday, starting at 8 a.m.
