Women's Fencers Untouchable at NU Duals

Evanston, Ill. - The Wildcats played host to the NU Fencing Duals this weekend. Fifteen teams from across the country came to Patten Gymnasium in Evanston, Ill., and only one emerged undefeated. The Wildcats finished the weekend a perfect 9-0.
NU won over 70 percent of their total bouts, outscoring opponents 184-69. NU upped their season dual record to 14-0.
Foil: Junior captain Kristen Dorf (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Academy) continued to dominate in the foil competition going 3-0 on day two, for a two-day record of 15-1. The foil team went 63-18 against the tournament field. They lost only one dual match the entire tournament.
Epee: The Epee squad went 20-7 on day two to finish 58-23, losing only three duals. Sophomore Kate Rudkin (Boulder, Colo./Boulder) had an outstanding tournament as she out-dualed her opponents 16-2.
Sabre: Senior captain Carly Wells (Arlington Heights, Ill.) led all Wildcats in wins with a two-day total of 20. Wells and the rest of the Sabre squads lost only one match, they fell 3-6 to Ohio State University.
