
Men's Tennis Knocks Off Louisville, 5-2

Evanston, Ill. - Jamie Sahara (Santa Maria, Calif./St Joseph) defeated Cody Conley (7-6 [4], 6-4) to put the finishing touches on a stellar day for the Wildcats, who notched their second win in as many days. The No. 51 Wildcats upset the No. 37 Louisville Cardinals, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the Johnson Tennis Center in Evanston.
NU won two of three matches in doubles and then gained singles wins at No. 1, 3, 5, and 6 to take the match.
Playing in the No. 1 singles position, Jackie Jenkins (College Park, Ga./Westlake) easily handled Louisville's Tvrtko Kujundzic in two sets (6-1, 6-1). Josh Axler (Huntington, N.Y./Walt Whitman) also put away his opponent quickly with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the No. 6 spot. Junior Ryan Edlefsen (Eden Prairie, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson) won his second straight match with a 6-3, 6-2 decision at No. 5.
