Women's Volleyball Falls in Four to Indiana

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern opened its first match of the Big Ten season with a loss to Indiana, 15-2, 15-10, 10-15, 15-8. The Hoosiers recorded 47 kills to the Wildcats' 42 while also outblocking Northwestern 9-5.5. Leading the way for the `Cats was Sarah Ballog with nine kills and three block assists. Erika Lange recorded eight kills. Cassie McKnight served up three aces in the losing effort, while Lindsay Pavlik picked up ten digs. Hurting the Wildcats most was their 35 attack errors and a .052 attack percentage. Indiana's Amanda Welter led all players with 17 kills and three block assists, while teammate Hillary Toivonen had 14 digs. Indiana is now 10-1 overall, 1-0 in the Big Ten while the `Cats fall to 3-8 overall, 0-1 in the Big Ten.
