EVANSTON, Ill. - The results for Northwestern's swimmers at the 2000 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials held in Indianapolis from August 9-16. A total of 13 current and former Wildcat men and women competed. The top 16 in each event advanced to semifinal round, with the top eight from semis advancing to next night's final. The top two in each event's final qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team.
WILDCAT WOMEN
Merritt Adams (Jr.) -- 55th in 100 butterfly (1:02.96), 48th in 200 butterfly (2:18.56).
Courtney Allen (2000 graduate) -- 24th in 100 freestyle (57.04), 3rd in 50 freestyle (25.58).
(6th/25.61 in semifinal, 7th/25.72 in final)
Amy Balcerzak (2000 graduate) -- 3rd in 100 breaststroke (1:08.63), 9th in 200 breaststroke (2:33.09).
(4th/1:08.29 in 100 semifinal, 4th/1:08.96 in 100 final)

Tashy Bohm (Sr.) -- 47th in 100 backstroke (1:05.75), 59th in 200 backstroke (2:21.76).
Rachel Johnson (Soph.) -- 26th in 400 IM (4:57.63), 17th in 200 IM (2:19.91), 28th in 200 butterfly (2:16.75).
Lauren Moore (Jr.) -- 66th in 50 freestyle (27.15).
Susannah Sample (Soph.) -- 25th in 100 backstroke (1:04.89), tie 18th in 200 backstroke (2:18.14).

Todd Capen (Sr.) -- 76th in 200 butterfly (2:06.80).
Jason Merchant (Sr.) -- 84th in 200 butterfly (2:09.52).

Mike Shue (Soph.) -- 33rd in 400 freestyle (3:59.66), 57th in 200 butterfly (2:05.15).
Steve Steketee (Sr.) -- tie 20th in 200 freestyle (1:52.14), 54th in 100 freestyle (51.85).
Brian Walters (1999 graduate) -- 10th in 100 backstroke (56.53), 9th in 200 backstroke (2:01.71).
