Day 2 Complete at U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials

EVANSTON, Ill. - Amy Balcerzak, who just graduated from Northwestern in June after earning 20 All-American honors, advanced to the final of the 100-meter breaststroke to highlight NU's participation at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in Indianapolis.
Balcerzak was third after the morning preliminaries today after swimming 1:08.63, then was fourth in the semifinal in a time of 1:08.29. The final will be swum Friday night.
Balcerzak finished tied for second at the NCAA Championships this winter in the event. Among the people she will swim against in the final are Kristy Kowal, the defending NCAA champion, and Stacianna Stitts, whom Balcerzak tied for second at NCAAs.
