Nasser, Cheng Ousted at NCAA Tennis Championships

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern University women's tennis season came to a close Monday, as Katherine Nasser and Colleen Cheng were ousted from competition at the NCAA Championships.

Nasser, the No. 51 player in the country, fell to Georgia's Lori Grey (6-2, 6-2) in the first round of the NCAA Singles Championships held at the Ralphs-Strauss Tennis Facility in Malibu, Calif. Nasser ends the season with a 31-17 overall record.

Nasser and Cheng then teamed up in the NCAA Doubles Championships and were defeated by Alison Bradshaw and Celena McCoury of Arizona State, the No. 3 seed, by scores of 6-4, 6-1 in the first round. The NU duo compiled a 11-12 record this season playing at the No. 1 spot in the Wildcat lineup.
