EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern University men's tennis team (10-10, 4-6) pulled out another close win, beating Iowa, 4-3, Sunday afternoon in Iowa City. The 'Cats picked up the doubles point, which would prove to be the difference, and went on to win three of the six singles matches.

Brad Erickson (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) and Joost Hol (Newport Beach, Calif./Foothill) defeated Cleveland and Wathers at No. 1, 8-4, while Jackie Jenkins (College Park, Ga./Westlake) and Russell Bennett (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) picked up a win at No. 2 for the first point of the match.

In singles, Josh Axler (Huntington, N.Y./Walt Whitman) won at No. 3, defeating Stuart Waters, 7-5, 6-3. Jenkins was the 7-5, 6-1, victor over Petar Mandic at No. 4 and Bennett won over Eric Kozlowski, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 6.

The 'Cats end the regular season and will travel to Bloomington, Ind., April 27-30, for the Big Ten Championships.
