EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern University women's swimming and diving team was recently honored as an Academic All-America squad for the fall semester by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
To qualify for the Academic All-America Team Award, the entire swimming and diving squad must average at least a 2.80 GPA on a 4.0 scale. The Wildcats boasted an average GPA of 3.23, qualifying them as one of just 34 Division 1 schools to earn a spot the CSCAA's "Excellent" list.
Individual honors were not presented at this time. They will be presented at the end of the spring semester. Last year, four Wildcats earned Academic All-America from the CSCAA.
The Wildcats finished a best-ever sixth at the NCAA Championships last month, while in February the women won a school-record five individual Big Ten Championships.
