EVANSTON,Ill. - Northwestern (5-5) took a 5-4 lead into the seventh inning but could not hold it, as Evansville (8-1) rallied for a 6-5 win at their own Aces' Diamond Classic in Evansville.
Junior Joe Hietpas (Appleton, Wis./North) continued his torrid hitting, going 2-for-3 with his third home run of the season for the Wildcats. For the weekend, Hietpas hit .778 (7-for-9) with two doubles, a home run and three RBIs. Senior J.P. Williamson (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) also had two hits, including a double, and a run scored in the losing effort.
