Women's Tennis Upsets South Alabama, 5-3

EVANSTON, Ill. - Punctuating the match with an upset of the top-ranked doubles team in the country, the Northwestern women's tennis team scored a mild upset by defeating South Alabama, 5-3, Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats entered the match ranked 20th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings, while South Alabama was 17th.
After taking a 4-2 lead through the singles matches, former Big Ten Player of the Year Katherine Nasser and Colleen Cheng closed out the win by upsetting the top-seeded doubles team in the country, USA's Martina Ondrejkova and Iva Puflerova, 8-3.
Nasser and Cheng were also victorious in at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively, while Lia Jackson and Marine Piriou also notched singles victories.
