Women's Golf is Fifth After Two Days

DALLAS, Texas - The Northwestern University women's golf team shot a combined 328 on the second day of the Midwest Classic, falling three spots to stand in fifth place with a 36-hole total of 638. TCU continues to lead with a total of 614, eight shots better than second-place Missouri. Rounding out the top five are Michigan State (628) and Nebraska (633).

Sophomore Emily Gilley continued to lead the way for the Wildcats. She carded an 8-over par 80 on a day that saw high winds which caused a majority of the player's scores to rise. Gilley has a two-day total of 152 and is currently in fifth place. She is five shots behind tournament leaders Ameila Moses (Missouri) and Lori Sutherland (TCU), who stand at three-over 147.

Freshman Elizabeth Burden is also in the Top 10 for NU. She is in seventh position at 157. Rounding out the Wildcats' lineup are Karen England (165/T41), Colleen Kiely (166/T44) and Christie Hermes (167 (T48).

Northwestern is hosting the 16-team field at the Hyatt Bear Creek Golf Club in DFW, Texas. The tournament concludes on Sunday.
