Northwestern Wrestling Opens Season at Michigan State Open

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern wrestling team opened its 2000-2001 campaign at the Michigan State Open last weekend. There were no team scores were kept at the meet but several NU wrestlers had good showings.

Sophomore Ryan Cumbee went 5-2 at 149 and freshman Josh Ballard was 5-1 at 141. Junior Rob Potashnick was 3-2 at 125 while senior Tom Ciezki went 3-2 at 174.

Northwestern is next in action Nov. 24 as they travel to Tempe, Ariz., for the Duals in the Desert.
