Northwestern Hosts Annual Swim Invitational This Weekend

EVANSTON, Ill. -
The Northwestern men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host the Northwestern Invitational this Friday through Sunday, Nov. 17-19. Teams participating on the women's side include UCLA -- the top-ranked team in the newest national poll -- Big Ten foe Ohio State, South Carolina and the 19th-ranked Wildcats. The men's side casts Northwestern, South Carolina, Missouri and Southern Illinois. The meet starts Friday evening at 6 p.m with the women's 200 Free Relay.
The Northwestern women opened their season with a victory at the NU Relays on Oct. 29. They fell to Indiana in a dual meet on Nov. 10 and then to Wisconsin last Friday. The Wildcats are led by All-Americans Tashy Bohm, Susie Sample, Merritt Adams and Lauren Moore.
The men's squad is 2-2 overall, 1-2 in conference action. They opened their season with wins against UW-Milwaukee and Indiana and a first-place finish in the NU Relays. They have lost to Minnesota and Wisconsin in conference action. Seniors Steve Steketee and Todd Capen pace the Wildcats, along with sophomores Kellan O'Connor, Mike Shue and Nick Barnes and junior Adam Kennedy.
