Women's Golf Third After Two Rounds of Mercedes Benz

EVANSTON, Ill. -
The Northwestern women's golf team is in third place after the first two rounds of the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate in Knoxville, Tenn. The tournament is being played at the Gettysvue Polo, Golf & Country Club. The course is par 72-5,985 yards.
Duke University is the current leader, shooting a two round total of 300-297=597. Host school, Tennessee, is just two shots back at 599.
Northwestern is four strokes behind the leader, shooting a two round total of 308-293=601. Northwestern's second round was the best team round of the day.
The tournament is led by NU senior Christie Hermes and Meredith Duncan of LSU. Hermes and Duncan are the only two golfers at even par.
Emily Gilley is tied for 12th, shooting two rounds of 75, while Lauren Grzebien had a 2-under-par, 70 second round to land her in a tie for 15th. Rounding out NU's top five is Elizabeth Burden (t-23rd) and Hana Kim (t-40th).
The final round starts tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. and is a shotgun start.
