
Men's Tennis Gains Second Win of Weekend

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's tennis team earned the first point of the day, taking two of three doubles matches, then clinched a 5-2 victory over DePaul by taking the top three singles matches Saturday afternoon at the Johnson Tennis Center.
The win was the second in two days for the Wildcats as they kicked off the 2000 spring season.
In the double matches, Brad Erickson and Joost Hol teamed to win at No. 1 and Jackie Jenkins and Russell Bennett combined to win at No. 3, giving NU the doubles point.
Erickson defeated John Cheregi (6-4, 6-3), Hol downed Maciek Jozwiak (7-5, 6-0) and Jenkins overcame Andreas Morfiadakis (6-3, 6-7, 6-4) to give the Wildcats an insurmountable lead after three singles matches. NU's other win came at No. 6 singles, where Bennett stormed back from a first-set loss to stun Rory McKinney (1-6, 7-6, 6-2).
