EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's soccer team fell to Eastern Illinois Sunday afternoon on Lakeside Field, 1-0.

Tim Fredin provided the long goal of the game, converting a feed from Scott Anderson at the 37:16 mark. Northwestern outshot the Panthers, 9-7, and took five corner kicks to EIU's one, but could not gain the equalizer.

The Wildcats meet Northern Illinois Wednesday afternoon before taking an eight day break. Upon returning to action, NU will face the top-ranked team in the nation, Penn State.
