EVANSTON, Ill. - Purdue's Kate Queen scored in the 29th minute, and the Boilermakers held on for a 1-0 victory over Northwestern. Queen picked up a loose ball, dribbled inside the box and fired a shot past NU keeper Erin Ekeberg. Northwestern controlled the second half and had several opportunities to tie the game. Junior Brooke Bell hit the crossbar off a corner kick and sophomore Katie Hertz also had a golden opportunity from inside the box but was stymied by the Boilermaker defense.
