Sept. 20, 1999
Northwestern put constant pressure on the Indiana defense, but dropped a 2-1 decision to Indiana. The Wildcats outshot the Hoosiers, 12-5, and earned a season-high 12 corner kicks while IU managed just one.
Indiana scored first, as Jessica Rabin turned in the middle and fired a shot past NU keeper Erin Ekeberg. Northwestern responded in the 74th minute as freshman Kelli Wilson converted off a scramble in front to tie the match 1-1. The tie was short-lived, though, as IU's Tracy Grose tallied the game-winner in the 80th minute.
NU thought they had the equilizer in the 89th minute, but a goal by Katie Hertz was waved off by an offsides call.
