CINCINNATI, Ohio - Northwestern continued its winning ways this evening on the road against Cincinnati. Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Ekeberg recorded her third consecutive shutout to lower her goals against average to 0.50 per game. Freshman forward Katie Hertz came in as a reserve to score both Wildcat goals.

The goals, scored within 10 minutes of one another early in the second half, were Hertz, first of her college career. The first came in the 55th minute on a breakaway, upon which senior defender Kristen Palmer notched her third assist of the season. In the 64th minute, Hertz punctuated a flurry of action surrounding the Cincinnati net by putting in her second goal off a rebound. Sarah Joehl grabbed the assist.

The victory, following shutout wins over Tulane and No. 15 Wisconsin-Milwaukee, puts 3-0-1 Northwestern in contention for a spot in the national polls next week.
