EVANSTON, Ill. Northwestern exploded for three second half goals to cap a 4-0 shutout victory over Valparaiso.
Sophomore midfielder Brandon Swalve (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) put the Wildcats on the board late in the first half on a header off a free kick from junior midfielder Jon Cantwell (Brookfield, Wis./East). The Wildcats then tallied three times in the final 18 minutes to put the Crusaders away.
Sophomore defender Pete Van Huysens (Portage, Mich./Monsignor Hackett) goal put the Cats up 2-0 and just five minutes later, senior defender Aaron Stolberg (Bloomington, Ind./South) converted a half-volley off a beautiful setup from Van Huysen and senior midfielder Steve Shanks (Denver, Colo./South).
