Summary: Northwestern got a second half goal from junior midfielder Trevor Nelson (Dublin, Ohio/Columbus Academy) to extract a tie from undefeated Eastern Illinois. Nelsons goal was his first of the season, giving him three points total for the year. Senior midfielder Dan Merz (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) assist gave him his first point for the year. Junior goalkeeper Matt Keeler (Portage, Mich./Portage Northern) nabbed eight saves, matching his season high in the Wildcats first overtime match of 1998.
