SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Wildcats put up a strong defense against Notre Dame allowing only one goal to determine the score. NU goalie Matt Keeler had three saves from the 20 shots Notre Dame took. One of those shots got past Keeler at 40:13 by Notre Dame's Shane Walton. The score was set up when Matt Johnson crossed a pass to Ryan Cox who was placed right in front of the box. Once Walton received the pass from Cox he took the shot at the NU goal. The 'Cats made a great scoring attempt when Notre Dames goal keeper Greg Velho was caught outside the goal. With an open net, NU's Trevor Nelson's shot went over the crossbar.
