Women's Swimming Signs Five to Letters of Intent

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern head womens swimming coach Jimmy Tierney announced today the signing of five student-athletes to national letters of intent. Merritt Adams (Atlanta, Ga./The Lovett School), Anne-Courtney Cruickshanks (Richmond, Va./Douglas Southall Freeman), Kaisa Greenberg (Princeton Junction, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro), Hyun Soo Suh (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School) and Adrian Talcott (St. Helena, Calif./Sienna) will compete for the Wildcats beginning in the fall of 1998.
Adams, a senior national qualifier and a top-16 All-American, is a U.S. junior national record holder in the 200 fly and an Academic All-American. Adams is also a member of the Headmasters List and the Scholars List at the Lovett School. She is expected to compete in the 100 and 200 fly and the 200 and 400 IM.
Cruickshanks, who swims the 100 and 200 fly, the 200 and 500 free and the 200 and 400 IM, is a U.S. senior national qualifier in the 100 and 200 fly. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club as a prep.
Greenberg, a U.S. senior national qualifier in the 100 and 200 breast, was the New Jersey state champion in the 200 free. She is expected to compete in the 100 and 200 breast and the 100, 200 and 500 free. She was also a member of the Spanish Honor Society.
Suh, who swims the 200, 500 and 1000 free and the 100 and 200 fly, is a U.S. senior national qualifier in the 500 and 800 free. She is also a member of Whos Who Among American High School Students.
Talcott, a U.S. junior national qualifier in the 200 breast and the 400 IM, is an Academic All-American and academic excellence award winner in biology, French and honors English. She is expected to compete in the 500, 1000 and 1650 free, the 200 breast and the 400 IM.
These five signees join Lauren Moore (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) who signed a letter of intent earlier this year.
